Hi everyone,
“Leveraging AI to Maximise Your Career / Job Application Success”
……has been a SUPER hot topic for us lately. We just launched a workshop on this and had 15 universities / institutions engage us already for training 🤯. Way better traction than we originally anticipated!
Below, I’ll share one helpful AI tool for your job application (among many). Specifically, how to leverage AI to quickly condense company information for perusal. Thoroughly researching every company you apply for, as you know, is critical…..but often can feel long and drawn out 😮💨 .
Below is the AI prompt we’ve found to produce the most extensive list of company information, while minimizing AI hallucinations. Keep in mind that role-play prompts typically works best (along with a number of other AI ‘best practices’) .
For illustration purposes, let’s say you’re interviewing with Airbnb.
Here’s the prompt you’d use:
You are an expert researcher who can find out the important facts about a company. I want you to write me a report on {company}. Search the internet for the most recent information so that your response is up-to-date. Respond in markdown with the following sections:
- A summary of {company} does
- A summary of {company} values most from employees
- The company's mission statement - Information about the company's culture
- A summary of when the company was founded and important moments in its history
- A list of company divisions
- Information about the CEO
- A list of board members
- The company's strengths and weaknesses
- A list of main competitors
{company}: Airbnb

Now, sit back and watch the magic unfold!

Pretty comprehensive, and collated in a mere fraction of the time you’d have spent manually digging everything up.
So……does this mean AI has completely taken over, and you just need to do literally 10 seconds of work to research each company you apply for?
Not quite. AI is not 100% there yet; there ARE nuances where human logic still reigns. See examples below; in particular, the ‘best answers’ to these deceptively simple questions are still human-led (for now, haha).

Hope you found the above helpful! If you’d like to see more insights around leveraging AI for your career, respond to me directly on this Email. I read all messages :).
Best,
