🔎 🤖 AI questions you'll encounter during interviews
Immediately-actionable career insights for ambitious individuals.
Happy Holidays and happy (early) new year, everyone!
Today’s post is a continuation of key career learnings from our flagship Work Simulation Program (backed by Singapore government, 1,300+ job-seekers impacted in 2025). Namely, AI interview questions you’ll likely encounter.
It’s no surprise that AI has been literally THE hottest career topic of 2025; most companies (MNCs and SMEs alike) now expect applicants to be AI-fluent, and actively implement AI into workflows to maximise efficiency.

What ‘AI-fluent’ means differ somewhat across companies and roles. However, we’ve noticed a clear pattern in how companies ‘suss out’ applicants. At the core, many interviewers want to understand how proactive you are when it comes to AI, and, if hired, whether you can leverage AI as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The 10 most common AI interview questions we heard this year:
How do you stay on top of AI trends?
What’s a recent AI trend that really excites you?
What’s your favorite AI product, and why? hint: never say something super generic like ‘ChatGPT’ here! Much better to mention specific workflow tools like Gamma, Lovable, etc., and HOW exactly it makes your life easier.
What AI platform (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) do you use the most, and why did you pick it over the other ones?
What prompt(s) do you use the most? What insights have you discovered on how to make the prompt more efficient / elicit better responses?
If you can improve one thing about your favorite AI product, what would it be and why?
Give us an example of how you made a previous workflow more efficient with AI.
Are you familiar with AI tools that we use at [Company X]?
How exactly would you make your job at [Company X] easier with AI? How much time could you save per week?
Let’s take [task X]. Walk us through elements you can automate with AI, and how you’d minimise AI hallucination.
These questions give the interviewer a great sense of how passionate / interested you are in AI, and whether you actually know what you’re talking about. For example, are you giving super generic answers, or providing deep, thoughtful responses resembling someone who truly enjoys playing around with AI tools?
Personally, I’ve subscribed to The Deep View since earlier this year (it’s free), and it’s been extremely helpful — 5-10 minutes a day to skim over the latest AI news and trends. They’ve kindly sponsored today’s newsletter; give it a quick read to see if it’s the right format for you too!
